Are LEGO Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic sets coming soon?

Yesterday’s PlayStation Showcase revealed that a remake of Knights of the Old Republic is in the works – so will tie-in LEGO Star Wars sets follow?

The dev studio responsible for porting plenty of previous Bioware titles – including Knights of the Old Republic – to mobile is currently working on a from-the-ground-up remake of the legendary RPG, which will be a timed console exclusive on PlayStation 5.

There’s no word yet on when we can expect to get our hands on Aspyr’s new game, but we already know the LEGO Star Wars team is no stranger to basing sets on video games: The Force Unleashed, The Old Republic and both of EA’s rebooted Battlefront titles have all enjoyed accompanying LEGO sets over the years.

We’ve also already had one minifigure based on Knights of the Old Republic, in the 2014 polybag 5002123 Darth Revan. Picking that up from BrickLink today will cost north of £75 – or closer to £90 if you’re looking at UK sellers – which puts it out of reach for most of us.

The planned remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – the first trailer for which puts Darth Revan front and centre – could therefore see the LEGO Group revisit that character, as well as expanding out to full sets based on the events of the game.

That said, between the current slate of Disney+ shows, Patty Jenkins’ Rogue Squadron movie and Rian Johnson’s planned trilogy, there’s no shortage of fresh Star Wars material on the horizon – which could also mean video games like Knights of the Old Republic take a backseat.

For now, we’ll just have to keep on playing the waiting game. Fill that time – and support Brick Fanatics in the process – by clicking through to LEGO.com and picking up the latest wave of Star Wars sets from The Mandalorian, The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch. Thank you!
