The LEGO Group teases upcoming Land Rover Classic collaboration

LEGO Land Rover Defender teaser

An upcoming Land Rover Classic collaboration is being teased in the latest post from the LEGO Group’s social media accounts.

Back in late 2022, the first rumours began to emerge regarding a potential new partnership between the LEGO Group and Land Rover. The two companies had previously collaborated together on 42110 Land Rover Defender, released in 2019 as part of the Technic range, but the suggestion was that a different model might appear at some point in 2023.

It now looks as if that story may have had some weight to it, if the latest posts on the LEGO Group’s social media platforms are anything to go by. A short video has revealed a yellow Land Rover Defender with a LEGO Store display on its roof, located somewhere in the wilds of the Scottish Highlands.

The brief promo features the vehicle parked on top of a mountaintop and states that it’s, ‘The hardest to reach LEGO Store in the world.’ This is then followed by an image of a map of the mystery location and the voiceover asking, “But who will be crazy enough to get here first?”

The promo would seem to suggest this could be the first in a possible series of videos revealing the upcoming collaboration, with a final image of the LEGO and Land Rover Classic logos, plus a ‘Coming soon…’ tagline included. There’s currently no suggestion as to whether the model might be a LEGO Icons or Technic set at this stage.

Likewise, it’s not yet known if the build will be based on the specific Land Rover Defender in the video or a completely different vehicle yet to be revealed, but we’ll keep you updated as soon as we have more information. The initial rumour for the model did contain some potential details on the set (as shown below), but these have yet to be confirmed by the LEGO Group.
